Cyclists to traverse Iran-Türkiye route
TEHRAN – A group of skilled motorcyclists will embark on a rally tour from Iran to Türkiye, starting on Friday morning, July 26.
The 15-day rally will be organized by the Touring and Automobile Club of the Islamic Republic in close collaboration with their Turkish fellows, taci.ir reported on Tuesday.
The cross-border rally will feature 12 professional motorcyclists, all members of TACI’s tourism club. The participants will embark on the journey, starting their adventure by traveling to Tabriz in East Azarbaijan, and then to Khoy in West Azarbaijan province. From there, they will cross the Razi border into Türkiye.
The first stop of the tour in Türkiye will be the city of Van, followed by Malatya and Samsun. On the return route, the motorcyclists will visit Trabzon, Rize, and Kars before re-entering Iran through the Bazargan border crossing in Maku.
The journey will conclude with stops in Urmia, Tabriz, Jolfa, and Sareyn, eventually returning to Tehran.
According to the event organizers, the rally aims to strengthen ties and promote collaboration with neighboring countries, foster sustainable and responsible tourism while protecting the environment, and advocate for safe driving practices. Additionally, it seeks to raise public awareness about the safety of motorcyclists on urban roads and highways, and highlight the tourist attractions of various Iranian cities.
