APho

The Asian Physics Olympiad (APho) originated from the International Physics Olympiad (IPho).

APho started in the year 2000 in Indonesia with about 10 participating countries, and in 2021, the participating countries grew to 26 countries.

It is an annual Physics competition for high school students from countries across Asia and Oceanic regions.

This APho is a regional platform for students who are passionate about Physics and who are talented, creative, and analytical to solve complex and challenging questions on Physics, which are widely recognized in the scientific community.

The competition is divided into 2 sections: a 5-hour theoretical examination, and a 5-hour laboratory experiment, consisting of either one or two experiments. Each national delegation is made up of 8 competitors plus two leaders who will compete for the winning prize.

IPho 2024

The 54th International Physics Olympiad will be held in Isfahan, Iran from July 21 to 29, an official with the Ministry of Education has said.

Participants from around 80 countries are forecast to attend the event, IRNA quoted Reza Hosseini as saying.

Olympiad students make up one percent of the 1.5 percent of gifted students in the country, and every year they make the country proud with their remarkable achievements.

The Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has approved 14 disciplines, allowing Iranian students to compete with foreign students in international Olympiads.

The country holds a top regional position and ranks within the top 10 globally.

Last year, Iran held a joint camp with China, and two joint mathematics and astronomy Olympiads with Russia to boost educational interactions further. Iran is planning to hold joint online events with Brazil, Belarus, and other countries.
