TEHRAN - Nazanin Fatemeh Eydian won a gold medal at the 21st Asian U20 Athletics Championships on Friday.

The Asian U20 Athletics Championships Yecheon 2023 silver medalist put on an improved display to win the women’s 400m hurdles race in 58.86 seconds and also improved her personal best. 

Also, Iran’s Mehdi Haftcheshmeh, who had won a silver medal last year in the Asian U20 Athletics Championships Yecheon, took a silver in the men’s hammer throw with a throw of 66.64 meters.

Indian Harshit Kumar won the gold with 66.70m for the gold and his teammate Prateek (65.97) took the bronze.

The Asian U20 Athletics Championships is also a qualifying event for the World U20 Athletics Championships which will be held in Lima, Peru from August 27 to 31.

The competition is being held in Dubai, the UAE from April 24 to 27.
