Iranian athletes win two more bronzes at 2024 Asian Indoor Athletic C’ships

TEHRAN – Iranian athletes Mehdi Saberi and Ali Amirian claimed two more bronze medals in the 11th edition of the Asian Indoor Athletic Championships on Saturday.

Tajinderpal Singh Toor of India won the gold medal in the men’s shot put with 19.72 meters.

Silver medal went to Kazakhstan’s Ivanov Ivan with 19.08 meters and Saberi seized the bronze with a throw of 18.74 meters.

Amirian also won a bronze medal in the men’s 1500 meters with a time of 3:49.33 minutes.

Elham Hashemi had seized a bronze in the women’s shot put with a throw of 14.27 meters.

The 2024 Asian Indoor Athletic Championships are being held from Feb. 17 to 19 in Tehran, capital of Tehran.

Almost 400 athletes from 26 nations are competing in the event.

The Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, running since 2004, is a biennial competition organized by the Asian Athletics Association.

The 2024 edition is being held in Tehran's Aftab e Enghelab Sports Complex, is the 11th edition.
