Iran calls for Intl. probe after Israeli raid on Gaza hospital
TEHRAN – Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman has called for an international probe into Israel’s Saturday raid on the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza after reports showed that Israel has committed harrowing war crimes at the facility.
“The footage published following the retreat of the Israeli regime military from Kamal Adwan Hospital shows that some wounded people were buried alive in the hospital grounds by bulldozers,” Nasser Kanaani wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Witnesses have reported that Israeli forces bulldozed tents housing displaced Palestinians near the compound. Footage showing people crushed under the rubble seems to verify the reports.
Israeli forces raided the hospital after a days-long siege, claiming Hamas was using the facility as a command center. The regime, however, has provided no evidence of Hamas’s presence there after ordering its troops to withdraw. Previous Israeli accusations about the group’s presence inside or under Gaza hospitals have so far proven untrue.
“The true face and anti-human nature of the Israeli regime have never been more exposed than in the war against Gaza,” added Kanaani before drawing attention to the situation of another hospital in the besieged territory, which has been described by the United Nations as a “bloodbath”. “After the killing of hundreds of Palestinians and the Zionists' preventing the bodies from being taken out, the Al-Shifa Hospital has turned into a mass grave,” he added.
Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza strip which were later joined by a ground offensive have so far resulted in the death of more than 20,000 Palestinian Civilians. At least 70% of the casualties are made up of Women and Children. This is while the entire 2.3 million population in Gaza is being denied food, water, medicine, fuel, and electricity due to a “full siege” by the regime.
