TEHRAN – Paykan football club announced the appointment of Reza Enayati as the club’s head coach on Wednesday.

The 47-year-old coach replaced Rasoul Khatibi in the Tehran-based club.

Khatibi was sacked after five months following poor results.

Under Khatibi, Paykan earned just one win in 10 matches.  

Enayati has most recently worked as head coach of Iran U23 football team, where the team failed to qualify for the 2022 Asian Games’ semifinals. 
Paykan sit 13th in the 16-team table at the 2023/24 Iran’s Persian Gulf Pro League (PGPL).
