ECOSAI governing board’s 27th meeting held in Tehran

TEHRAN – The 27th meeting of the board of governors of the ECOSAI Kicked off in Tehran on Wednesday, IRIB reported.

The meeting was chaired by Head of the Supreme Audit Court of Iran Ahmadreza Dastgheyb and attended by the heads of the audit courts of the member states including Pakistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dastgheyb said: “The fact is that the ECO member countries have very close relations with each other, and aside from being neighbors, it can be said that these countries are related to each other and actually belong to a big family.”

“ECO member countries, with a population of nearly half a billion people and more than eight million square kilometers of land and cultural, historical, and religious affinities, have irreplaceable capacities for the development of regional cooperation in various dimensions,” he said.

According to the official, drafting of the ECOSAI organization's strategic roadmap for the years 2022 to 2027, planning to hold ECOSAI training courses, and exchanging opinions on the performance of ECOSAI in facing the upcoming issues are among the main goals of the 27th meeting of the ECOSAI governing board.

The ECOSAI is a regional forum of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the South and Central Asian regions which was founded in 1994.

The entity aims to promote the state auditing profession in member countries through the exchange of ideas, and experiences and by holding seminars, conferences, workshops, and training courses.
