Unsaid stories of the 33-day war and prisoner swap with Israel to be published
TEHRAN - Wafiq Safa, the chief Hezbollah negotiator and the head of the Communication and Coordination Committee had an interview with the representative of Tasnim news agency in Beirut.
Along with Imad Mughniyeh and Mustafa Badreddine, Safa is one of the prominent security figures of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
The exclusive interview will be published tomorrow on Tasnim's Persian, Arabic, Hebrew, and English websites.
In the interview, he recited part of the behind-the-scenes stories behind the 33-day war in the summer of 2006 and the reason for the capture of two Israeli soldiers. He also shared his observations of the prisoner exchange negotiations with Tasnim.
The other part of the interview is devoted to the recent agreement to draw the maritime borders between Lebanon and Palestine.
The narrative of the senior Hezbollah security official about his meeting with Joseph Aoun, the commander of Lebanon’s army, is another important part of the interview.
Aoun is considered one of the candidates for the presidency of Lebanon.
