TEHRAN – Mahsa Javer and Zeinab Norouzi claimed a silver medal in the women's double sculls of the 2022 Asian Games on Sunday.

Chinese pair Lu Shiyu and Shen Shuangmei finished in 7 minutes 6.78 seconds to win the gold medal at the Fuyang Water Sports Centre.

Iranian rowers claimed the silver with a time of 7:17.08 and bronze medal went to Thailand’s Nuntida Krajangjam and Parisa Chaempudsa with 7:21.70.

With more than 12,000 competitors from 45 nations and territories, the Asian Games has more participants than the Olympics.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
