Shaheed Yaqoub Umar was martyred during international Quds day in Abuja, Nigeria, human rights activist Al Aqeel Jawad said.

Thousands of protesters in some cities of Nigeria including Abuja and Bauchi took to the street to show their total solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine and condemn the terrorism and the occupation of Palestine by the Zionists regime of Israel.

The protesters carried along the Palestinian flag, photos of Al Aqsa Mosque, and resistance leaders including Imam Khomeini, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, and Qassem Soleimani.

Earlier on Thursday, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky called on the people of the West African country to appear in the streets in mass to express their support for Palestine.

A group called Jaish Al-Qassem Soleimani (Soldiers of Qassem Soleimani) also participated in the demonstration in Bauchi.

Lt. General Soleimani was the commander of IRGC Quds Force, who was assassinated in Iraq on the orders of former US President Donald Trump.
