Iran FM meets Mauritania minister
TEHRAN - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has met in Tehran with Mauritania’s Minister of Islamic Affairs Dah Ould Sidi Ould Amar Taleb.
In the meeting on Tuesday afternoon, Amir Abdollahian congratulated the African country’s government and people on the holy month of Ramadan, according to the Iranian foreign ministry.
Amir Abdollahian also thanked Mauritania for participating in the International Exhibition of the Holy Quran in Iran.
He also extended warm greetings on behalf of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani.
The foreign minister also hailed the African country’s government and people for their support of the Palestinian cause.
For his part, Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs Dah Ould Sidi Ould Amar Taleb gave warm greetings to the Iranian president and people on behalf of his country’s high-ranking officials.
He said Mauritania welcomes the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, expressing hope that the people of both countries as well as regional and Muslim nations will benefit from the blessings of this deal.
Mauritania’s minister of Islamic affairs also praised Iran’s support for the Palestinian people and said the Palestinian issue is not exclusively about the people of Palestine, but it’s related to the entire Muslim ummah, and Iran has been a pioneer in this regard.
