Iran FM, Qatar deputy FM hold talks in Tehran
TEHRAN- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian met on Monday with Qatar's Deputy Foreign Minister for Regional Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al-Khulaifi, to exchange views on significant issues.
Amir Abdollahian rated Iran and Qatar's bilateral ties in political, economic, and consular areas as outstanding during the meeting.
Additionally, the top Iranian diplomat highlighted the need to implement the agreements made between the two nations during the prior talks.
A message from Qatar's foreign minister was also delivered to Amir Abdollahian by the country's deputy foreign minister.
Al-Khulaifi also expressed his nation's willingness to increase collaboration with Iran.
He praised the exceptional political, economic, and consular ties between Tehran and Doha and emphasized the need to implement the accords that the two countries' heads of state have already signed.
Iran and Qatar have developed amicable ties in recent years. The Persian Gulf Arab state has acted as an intermediary between Iran and the U.S. in the efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA.
