Unveiling “Hitler Mansion”
On Monday, the book "Hitler Mansion" was unveiled at Somayeh Book Café. The discussion was attended by the author of the book, Davood Khodaei, the head of the province's art bureau, and other critics.
The story of "Hitler Mansion" begins in 1941, with the arrival of Germans and Russians in Tabriz, and then moves on to the events of the Islamic Revolution, including the role of the narrator's parents in the revolution, and lastly to the events that follow the revolution.
At the start of the ceremony, Khodaei stated that "Hitler Mansion" is his first book, which is about three generations of a Qajri family in Tabriz and tells Azerbaijan's history, the advent of the Germans, and the Russian attack.
"I also have experience writing for children and teenagers, and I used to be a teacher at an intellectual development center," he said.
“Our history has always been narrated by the rulers, rarely seen by the people. In the novel writing movement, we tried to pay attention to the people and look at the events from their perspectives. Mankind always have different dimensions and we only see the side that we like in them. But in this novel, like other people, the main character has different reactions in different situations,” Khodaei added.
In the ceremony's continuation, Sasan Nategh expressed his happiness with the ceremony, saying that "Hitler Mansion" was one of the finest works that came out of the novel workshops we've been holding since 2019.
He emphasized the significance of narration from the depths of history, claiming that we are inextricably linked to history. "Among our writers, paying attention to history has become a scientific technique, and we try to hear all of the people's voices and express different points of view in fiction. And the author is likewise influenced by societal events and should record them," he added.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Teimur Aghamuhammadi, a writer and critic, explained how novels carry a lot of information, saying that when we read a novel, we are looking for the author's point of view on subjects and how he portrays himself. He went on to say that, contrary to popular belief, history is not just summarized in time, but also in place, and that this novel was written in such a way that people in a certain location set the events of the novel.
"There are two methods to tell a historical novel. The first way is to preserve the original history while telling a story about it. Another option is to alter the history and its components. Writing a historical fiction is one of the most difficult undertakings because the author must travel to a distant period and location and be in a place that is alien to that time and place," Teimur Aghamuhammadi explained.
