Army Commander: Security, a Vitally Important Issue of Society

ORUMIYEH, West Azarbaijan Prov. Commander of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran Brigadier General Abdollah Pourshasb said on Monday that today the issue of security is one of the vitally important issues of the society. Addressing a ceremony here in which Brigadier General Golestaneh was introduced as the army commander of northwestern region of the country, General Pourshasb said security in each society is safeguarded by the might of that society which is based on the four economic, social, political and military pillars.
Underlining the high combat power of the armed forces, Brigadier General Pourshasb said the army is present along 2500 km of the country's frontiers and has control over land and air borders. He underscored preservation of security on eastern borders and said security has been established in that region with the area being mopped up of bandits. Deputy of West Azarbaijan Province governor general for political and security affairs Hojatoleslam Asgari who was also present in the ceremony said today the government values the army as a criterion for security.
