Telecommunications Infrastructure Company to boost privatization

TEHRAN – The Telecommunications Infrastructure Company is preparing a strategy document by the next two months aimed to fight monopoly and strengthen privatization, Mehr reported on Monday.

The share of information and communication technology (ICT) in the gross domestic product (GDP) is less than 2 percent while for digital transformation, the figure should increase, Sajjad Bonabi, an official with the company said.

The legal challenges halted ICT development during past years and the company does its best to pave the way for content production and marketing in cyberspace, he added.

Telecommunication Infrastructure Company is responsible for telecommunication networks infrastructure in Iran, it is working as the governmental body of ICT Ministry with the aim of creating, developing, managing, organizing, supervising, maintaining and implementing the main communication backbone of the country and continuous its infrastructural activities.
