Iranian Psychologists and What They Do

December 3, 2018 - 11:3

According to IranianPsychologist.org, in every setting from scientific research centers to mental health care services, “the understanding of behavior” is the enterprise of psychologists.

Psychologists study cognitive, emotional, and social processes and behavior by observing, interpreting, and recording how people relate to one another and to their environments. They use their findings to help improve processes and behaviors. Iranian psychologists seek to understand and explain thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behavior. They use techniques such as observation, assessment, and experimentation to develop theories about the beliefs and feelings that influence individuals.

Iranian psychologists often gather information and evaluate behavior through controlled laboratory experiments, psychoanalysis, or psychotherapy. They also may administer personality, performance, aptitude, or intelligence tests. They look for patterns of behavior or relationships between events, and they use this information when testing theories in their research or when treating patients.

Why would I see an Iranian psychologist?

There are many reasons why you might see a Persian psychologist. For example, you might be experiencing anxiety, depression, stressful life events, marital and family problems or any other mental health difficulty. You might not even know what is going on, but just feel that you haven’t been ‘right’ or that your life has become more difficult. An Iranian psychologist is trained to perform a detailed assessment of your mental health and to identify what is going on for you. If you are having difficulties at school, such as struggling to pay attention or to maintain your focus, you might see a clinical neuropsychologist who will help by developing an individual treatment plan for you.

What is Psychological Testing?

Psychological testing, also called psychometrics, the systematic use of tests to quantify psychophysical behavior, abilities, and problems and to make predictions about psychological performance.

Psychological testing can answer a broad range of questions. For example, a prospective employer may have a psychologist test candidates as part of the employment recruitment process to determine what skills they have in a particular area or they can assess children with special learning needs, people with brain injuries, or older adults experiencing problems with declining memory. An Iranian psychologist may help test an individual to judge whether they are competent to manage their own affairs responsibly.

Difference between Psychologists and Psychiatrists

Psychiatrists and psychologists are different types of doctors that are trained to help you deal with mental health issues. Both psychiatrists and psychologists are there to solve your problems. They aim to provide you with the means to manage the issues in your everyday life. Persian psychologists have a doctoral degree in an area of psychology which is the study of the mind and human behavior. They are not medical doctors. An Iranian psychologist can have a PhD in philosophy or a PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology. Typically, they do one or two years of internship. Unlike psychiatrists, psychologists are also trained in giving psychological tests like IQ tests, attitude tests, achievement tests or direct observation and tests personality tests.
