TEHRAN – The Majlis national security and economic Committees will hold a meeting on the economic threats of Telegram messaging app for the country, a lawmaker has said, IRNA reported.

Hossein Naqavi-Hosseini, the spokesman for the security committee, said on Wednesday that the two committees will hold a meeting on Monday to discuss Telegram’s economic threats as well as the need to protect individuals’ privacy in domestic messaging apps.

Naqavi-Hosseini added that the ICT Minister Mohammad-Javad Azari-Jahromi and Secretary of  Supreme Council of Cyberspace Abolhassan Firouzabadi will attend the meeting.
