TEHRAN — Mayors of 8 metropolises of Iran requested a visit from President Hassan Rouhani to call his attention to the shortcomings the municipalities are facing.

The mayors of Tehran, Qom, Mashhad, Karaj, Isfahan, Qazvin, Tabriz and Ahwaz have collectively decided to write a formal letter to President Rouhani and make an appointment with him, ISNA reported.

They made the decision over a meeting of metropolises mayors held on Saturday in Tehran. 

Over the course of the meeting the mayors discussed various issues affecting the metropolises namely renovation of run-down areas, air pollution, earthquakes, next year’s budget bill and budget deficiency.
