TEHRAN – Major General Qassem Soleimani, who commands the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), has been named the best commander of the Iranian armed forces.

In a ceremony on Sunday to introduce top military individuals and bodies in Iran, Soleimani and the Quds Force were named the best commander and force of the country, IRNA reported.

When foreign-backed terrorists emerged in Iraq and Syria six years ago, the Quds Force entered the two countries at the request of the two countries’ governments to help stop the terrorists.
