TEHRAN – A foreign policy advisor to the Iranian parliament speaker on Tuesday called on the United Nations to pay serious attention to systematic violation of human rights in Bahrain.

In a post on his official Twitter page, Hossein Amir Abdollahian urged the UN to pay due attention to the detention of Sheikh Isa Qassim, Bahrain’s prominent Shia cleric, Mehr reported.

“Health status of Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim has been reported to be extremely poor and critical,” he lamented.

The health condition of Sheikh Qassim is now critical. Currently, he is under house arrest.
