Tehran center to host Turkish Film Week

TEHRAN – Seven films will go on screen at the Turkish Film Week, which will be held at the Cinematheque of the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) in Tehran from January 22 to 28.

Turkish Ambassador Riza Hakan Tekin, the managing director of the Yunus Emre Institute in Tehran, Turgay Safak, and a number of Iranian cultural figures are scheduled to attend the opening ceremony.

“Remote Possibility” by Mahmut Fazıl Coşkun, “Honey” by Semih Kaplanoglu, “Sivas” by Kaan Mujdeci and “Three Roads” by Faysal Soysal will go on screen during the film week.

“The Butterfly’s Dream” by Yilmaz Erdogan, “Once Upon a Time in Anatolia” and “Winter Sleep”, both by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, are also among the films.

The screenings will be followed by review sessions, which will be attended by the film directors and Turkish critics, including Hassanali Yildirim, Peyami Celikcan, Burcak Evren and Baris Saydam.

The program has been organized by the Yunus Emre Institute.
