TEHRAN – The chairman of the Followers of the Line of Imam and Leadership Front has said Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf is the most serious principlist choice to run for presidency next year.

Speaking to the Etemad newspaper in an interview published on Monday, Mohammad Reza Bahonar said Qalibaf has said he will run only when principlists reach consensus on him.

Principlists are going to consider the fact that Qalibaf came second in the previous presidential election, Bahonar added.
