Lebanon must pursue fate of missing Iran diplomats: families
July 10, 2016 - 20:58
TEHRAN – Families of the four Iranian diplomats kidnapped in Lebanon more than three decades ago have called on the Beirut government to fulfill its responsibility to help determine the fate of their loved ones.
In a Saturday meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut, a delegation of the families said Lebanon has the responsibility to follow up on the case as the 1982 abductions took place on the Lebanese soil, the Daily Star reported.
The families of the missing diplomats were accompanied by Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali during the meeting that was held on the 34th anniversary of the kidnappings.
