Sahar TV to entertain Azeri viewers with “Jabir ibn Hayyan”

TEHRAN -- A TV series about prominent Iranian scientist Jabir ibn Hayyan will be broadcasted for Azeri viewers on Sahar, an international Iranian TV channel available on satellite, in near future.
Entitled “Jabir ibn Hayyan”, the 14-part TV series is dubbed into Azeri by the Salam Studio in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Elham Asgarov, Nasibeh Husseinava, Gulnaz Zolalava, Qadir Miza, Visal Khaliq Owqlu are amongst the dubbers of the TV series.
Produced by the Iranian Alkowsar TV, Javad Afshar is directed the movie which is on the life of Iranian chemist and alchemist, astronomer and astrologer, engineer, geographer, philosopher, physicist, and pharmacist and physician.
Enayat Bakhshi, Anushiravan Arjmand, Akbar Abdi, Sudabeh Beyzaei and Kazem Afrandnia are amongst the cast of the series.
Born and educated in Tus, Jabir ibn Hayyan (c. 721-815) later traveled to Kufa. Jaber is held to have been the first practical alchemist.
As early as the tenth century, the identity and exact corpus of works of Jabir was in dispute in Islamic circles. His name was Latinized as “Geber” in the Christian West and in 13th century Europe an anonymous writer, usually referred to as Pseudo-Geber, produced alchemical and metallurgical writings under the penname Geber.
