TEHRAN – Iranian Navy commandoes intercepted on Sunday an oil tanker named White Eagle, which was smuggling fuel in the Sea of Oman.

The navy coastguards prevented the vessel from leaving Iran’s water for Oman off the coast of Jask, a port town south of the country.

Commandoes stormed aboard and arrested all crews, when the vessel ignored the warning given by the navy fleet.

Prior to the raid, the crews tampered with the engines of the vessel in order to disrupt the work of the Iranian troops so a tugboat was sent to the area to tow the oil tanker to Jask port.

According to the crews of the ship, the captain of the vessel escaped by a speedboat before commandoes raided the ship.
