TEHRAN Some 85.653 kg of hashish and opium were seized in two different operations in the southern province of Bushehr last week, it was announced Saturday. Abdolreza Hosseini, an official with the provincial Law Enforcement Forces told IRNA that 50 kg of the seized narcotic drugs were hashish and the rest opium. 11 drug traffickers were arrested and seven vehicles and motorcycles confiscated during the two operations, he added.

In another development, some 40 kg of morphine was seized in the city of Khoy, in the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan, in the past few days, it was also announced Saturday. Two drug smugglers were also arrested by the Law Enforcement Forces during the operation, a security official of the city said. (IRNA)
