Pakistan Urges Mediation With India

  1. Other News
December 29, 1998 - 0:0
ISLAMABAD Pakistan renewed its request for third-party mediation in disputes with arch-rival India on Monday, in talks with a senior British official. Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz voiced Pakistan's concern at what he called New Delhi's "massive build-up of arms" in a meeting with Sir John Kerr, a Foreign Ministry statement said. India has in the past rejected proposals for outside mediation in the long-standing dispute over the Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir, saying it preferred bilateral talks.
