Director of Rome’s MAXXI visits Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art

TEHRAN -- Giovanna Melandri, the president of the MAXXI -- National Museum of the 21st Century Arts in Rome, has visited the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA).
Italian Ambassador Mauro Conciatori also accompanied Melandri during the visit to the museum, which is currently hosting Comprehensible Mentality, an exhibition showcasing a collection of rarely-seen works by world-renowned contemporary artists, the TMCA announced in a press release on Tuesday.Melandri praised the arrangement of artworks at the exhibition and said that the exhibit can be compared with many art shows organized at the major museums of the world.
She also said that art enthusiasts of the world should be informed about the rich treasury and activities of the museum via international media.
In addition, ways to expand relations between the two museums were discussed during a meeting with TMCA Director Majid Mollanoruzi.
Many must-see exhibitions could be organized due to the numerous invaluable artworks being kept at TMCA’s treasury, Conciatori said.
He said that his country is eager to collaborate with the TMCA in organizing joint exhibitions.
