TEHRAN – Unidentified men have set fire on an Iranian truck near Iran-Turkey border on Wednesday, director of transit department at Iran’s Roads Maintenance Organization Mohammad-Javad Atrchian said.

The attack took place at the checkpoint of Bazargan in the Turkish side of the border, the official told ILNA.
He called Turkey responsible for maintaining the security of Iranian drivers in that country.

Atrchian warned the Iranian drivers about insecurity in Turkey and advised them to avoid taking unnecessary trips by land.

He added that there are three alternative roads to Turkey.

On Friday, unidentified gunmen attacked an Iranian bus traveling from Bazargan to the Turkish eastern city of Van. The attack left one person killed and three others wounded.
