TEHRAN -- Dubai’s Total Art Gallery will host a painting exhibition by Iranian artist Abdolhossein Mohseni Kermanshahi from January 10 to 31.
Entitled “Beads, Stones and Necklaces”, the exhibit focuses on traditional Persian ornaments and jewelry, gems and beads. The website of the gallery described Mohseni’s works as imbued with “vibrant colors, light and shadows, textures, rhythms and compositions”.
He was inspired by the strings of beads and chains of colorful stones on the walls of jewelry shops in Muscat’s old souq (market), Sharjah and Isfahan.
“I photograph and sketch when I travel, but more than anything else, I feel the atmosphere and capture the soul of a place. The final outcome is a combination of colors, forms and my feelings that I experienced when I was in that particular place,” he mentioned on the gallery’s website.
