Iran invites UN rights chief to visit Tehran

TEHRAN — Iran has invited the UN human right chief Navi Pillay to visit Tehran, according to state-run Borna news website.

Iran's rights official Mohammad Javad Larijani extended the invitation to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay in a meeting with the Swiss ambassador in Tehran.
According to IRNA, Larijani on Thursday confirmed reports that he has invited Pillay to visit Iran.
Larijani also denounced the West’s “politically motivated human rights resolutions” and said Iran was ready to give an “efficient response” to allegations of rights violations in Iran
