‘Iran’s membership in IPU human rights committee a success’

TEHRAN – Majlis Deputy Speaker Mohammad Hassan Abu Torabi has said that Iran’s membership in the Inter Parliamentary Union’s Committee on human rights was a success for the country.
Abu Torabi made the remarks in an open session of the Majlis on Tuesday.He added that the parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic had an active presence in the 122nd IPU Assembly in Bangkok.
The Iranian delegation had meetings with representatives of over 30 countries from across the globe, he noted.
Kazem Jalali of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee was selected as a member of IPU Committee on Human Rights of Parliamentarians during the 122nd IPU Assembly held on 27 March - 1 April 2010
