World Tour Operators confab underway in Kish

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- The first international conference of tour operators opened in Kish Island on Tuesday.

Deputy Manager of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization said that 531 tour operators from 46 countries are attending the conference.
“The event aims to introduce Iran's policies towards tourism industry and presenting great capacities of tourism in Iran to the tour operators throughout the world,” Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh said.
Meanwhile, managing director of Kish Free Trade Zone Organization said that introducing Iran as a safe and new destination for tourism industry and closing the countries and establishing friendship among nations are among the other objectives of the conference.
Davoud Madadi said, “I'm sure that the foreign tour operators who are participating in the event will introduce the beauty of Kish Island to the world.” Tourism Deputy of Kish Free Trade Zone Organization Hamidreza Tahmasebpour noted that over 1.3 million domestic and foreign tourists visit Kish Island every year.
Given Kish Island is popular as a safe tourism destination across the world, he said Kish Free Trade Zone Organization enjoys all the infrastructures which are needed for boosting the tourism industry across the country.
The event started on November 25 and will run until November 28.
In addition to 16 major American operators, representatives from professional tourism agencies such as World Tourism Organization, UNESCO and some other professional companies from Iran and other countries are also attending the event.
