U.S. women activists meet Iranian lawmakers in Tehran

TEHRAN – MP Fatemeh Alia said on Tuesday that a group of women activists from the United States have traveled to Iran to meet with Iranian female lawmakers.

She said after Barak Obama won the U.S. presidential elections some non-government American groups requested to meet with Iranian lawmakers.
“This shows that Obama’s victory in the presidential vote has raised some hopes in the U.S. and his promise of change has affected the public opinion in the United States,” Alia opined.
Besides the group that is already in Iran, another group which advocates peace plans to travel to Tehran soon to meet with Iranian MPs, she said.
