Russia's Fuel and Power Minister to Visit Iran

MOSCOW - The Russian Fuel and Power Engineering Minister Sergei Generalov will visit Tehran at the invitation of Iranian Oil Minister, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, in late November. In a meeting on Friday, Generalov and the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Safri discussed, preparing the grounds for the visit, expansion of cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, particularly in the Caspian Sea and policy coordination at the international oil markets.
Generalov also thanked the Iranian oil minister for the invitation, and expressed hope that bilateral, regional and international cooperation between the two countries expand in the future. He also said that Iran and Russia, as two major oil exporting countries can play an influential role in boosting and stabilizing oil prices. Russia is one of the principal investors in the South Pars gas field and has also shown interest in oil and gas resources in the Iranian mainland.
