Speaker praises massive turnout in election
In a message to the Iranian nation, Parliament Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel appreciated the people across the country for their massive turnout in Friday’s parliamentary elections.
March 14 elections once again showed that Iran’s enemies “do not know the Iranian nation” and are not able to “understand the strong bond” between the Iranian nation and the Islamic Revolution.
In his message he also expressed his gratitude for efforts made by the candidates and political parties to encourage people to turn out massively, and the officials responsible for holding the elections especially the Guardian Council and the Interior Ministry.
Certainly, people’s enthusiastic participation will lead into the formation of a strong parliament and with this public support the next parliament can fulfill its responsibilities in a better way, Haddad-Adel stated.
Haddad-Adel led the United Fundamentalist Front (UFF) Tehran slate and so far is the front-runner in the key legislative voting.
