Iran’s Embassy in Afghanistan says the U.S. envoy’s recent remarks are “interference” in the two neighbors relations.

The Iranian Embassy issued a statement saying “These baseless remarks are the result of U.S. officials’ ignorance and their atrocious policies towards Iran.”
On Wednesday, William B. Woods, U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan, questioned Iran’s policies towards Afghanistan, accusing the country of sending weapons for the government’s opposition groups.
The Iranian embassy in its rejoinder also addressed the issue of illegal Afghan nationals repatriation stating, “the plan is aimed at repatriation of all illegal foreign nationals, but implementing it has been temporarily delayed due to the cold season, and requests made by local Afghan officials.”
The statement added that the order to stop the repatriation process was issued by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and the Afghan Foreign Ministry has been officially informed of the plan.
