ISLAMABAD (IRNA) -- Pakistani cleric Allama Amin Shahidi has said that the victories of the Lebanese Islamic resistance movement and Palestinian Hamas are among the achievements of Iran's Islamic Revolution, led by the late Imam Khomeini.

Shahidi told IRNA that the Revolution awakened Muslim nations, further unveiling the dirty image of the tyrannical Israeli regime in the 33-day unequal war on Lebanon.

He said that among other achievements of Islamic Revolution is the vigilance of Arab nations, especially the Persian Gulf littoral states.

He added that Islamic Revolution has breathed a new life into the global community, reviving true Islam after 1400 years.

Those considering religion and politics as being separate have realized their mistake with the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, he noted.

Shahidi stressed that the Iranian people, led by the late Imam Khomeini, turned to religion as the only reliable source of support.

The Pakistani cleric said Islamic Revolution in Iran brought about social equality, campaign against injustice, administration of social justice, support for religion, reliance on God, freedom and independence, honorable life coupled with strength and the campaign against arrogance.

He said Iran has turned into a role model for other countries.
