Iran tourism display celebrated at Zimbabwe expo
TEHRAN – Iran’s stall has been selected as one of the top international exhibits at the Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo held from September 12 to 14.
The stall, which was managed by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, impressed both organizers and attendees with its comprehensive display of Iran’s diverse tourism offerings, IRNA reported on Monday.
The event was inaugurated by Zimbabwe's Minister of Tourism Barbara Rwodzi, who emphasized the importance of such expos in fostering international tourism connections.
Iran’s booth was recognized as the second-best international stall at the expo, earning a commendation from the Zimbabwean Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, the report said.
The Persian offerings highlighted an array of natural landscapes, cultural heritage, medical tourism, and historical sites, capturing the attention of many visitors. In addition, the stall provided connections between Iranian travel agencies and their international counterparts, and aimed to promote future collaborations.
The Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo, hosted at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo, serves as a premier event for global tourism stakeholders to network, collaborate, and showcase their destinations. This year’s expo saw participation from about 400 exhibitors, marking a significant increase from previous years.
The Islamic Republic expects to reap a bonanza from its numerous tourist spots such as bazaars, museums, mosques, bridges, bathhouses, madrasas, mausoleums, churches, towers, and mansions, of which 28 monuments and sites (or collected monuments) have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
