Alborz makes strides to draw intl. health tourists
TEHRAN – Alborz province, home to the first health tourism village in Iran, has set sights on drawing international visitors by enhancing infrastructures.
“The first health tourism complex in Iran, located between the tourist areas of Kordan and Baraghan, has been operational since last year,” said the manager of the health tourism village on Thursday. “From that point on, the complex has already hosted several foreign delegations.”
Mahboob Hashemi explained that the village offers comprehensive preventive and diagnostic services for all diseases. “Patients requiring further treatment are referred to specialized and super-specialized medical centers,” he pinpointed.
In addition to health services, the complex also provides accommodation and tourism services for visitors, making it a holistic destination for health and wellness, according to Hashemi.
The Alborz health tourism village, he continued, boasts advanced medical facilities, offering specialized services in fields such as brain mapping, vision and hearing assessments, cardiology, nephrology, orthopedics, and more.
The manger further elaborated that the complex also hosts national conferences in its auditorium, where attendees can benefit from the health services available.
“We’re ramping up every effort to develop Alborz province as a health tourism hub,” Hashemi winded up.
Iran has increasingly positioned itself as a key player in the health tourism industry, attracting patients from neighboring countries and beyond.
Known for its highly skilled medical professionals, modern healthcare facilities, and competitive pricing, Iran offers a wide range of medical services, including advanced surgeries, fertility treatments, cosmetic procedures, and traditional medicine therapies.
The country’s strategic location, combined with the availability of high-quality healthcare at a fraction of the cost found in many Western countries, makes it an attractive destination for health tourists. Additionally, Iran’s rich cultural heritage and diverse landscapes allow patients to combine their medical treatments with unique travel experiences, enhancing the appeal of health tourism in the country.
