Gilan registers 7 million overnight stays in month

TEHRAN – As one of the most sought-after travel destinations across Iran, Gilan province has recorded some seven million overnight stays so far this summer, said a local tourism official.

In a recent interview with ISNA, Vali Jahani announced that accommodation facilities within the province, including both official and temporary lodgings welcomed more than seven million tourists since the very first day of summer.

“Rasht, Bandar-e Anzali, and Astara, were the most visited counties provincewide,” the director-general brought to light, pointing to Fuman, Lahijan, Rudsar, and Talesh, as the other crowded destinations.

Jahani further elaborated that over one million visits to province’s diverse attractions have been also recorded in the course of one month.

Gilan province in northern Iran, along the Caspian Sea, is known for its lush landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and status as a tourism hub.
