TEHRAN - Sareyn is poised for a tourism boom as new projects near completion, promising to extend visitor stays and enhance the region’s appeal, said the local governor.

“The implementation of several new tourism projects is nearing completion, with an eye toward expanding the tourism chain in Sareyn,” Baqer Baqerzadeh emphasized during a visit to the Darband Sareyn tourist area on Monday, adding that the primary goal of the tourism complexes is to extend tourists’ stays beyond the current average of 2.5 days.

He pinpointed the importance of diversifying tourist attractions and establishing new recreational centers, an initiative which is possible through collaboration with the private sector investors.

The governor lauded the investor’s efforts in the Darband Sareyn tourist area, who readied the project for operation in under a year, anticipating an influx of tourists during the peak season.

Moeover, the CEO of the Darband Sareyn tourist area, Hossein Abbasi-Nia, announced the completion of the unique three-tier Vargeh Saran bridge, which is now ready for inauguration. The three-tier suspension bridge, a first in Iran, boasts a beautiful and robust design, he continued.

In addition to county’s renowned hot springs and scenic nature, the CEO concluded, the suspension bridge adds to the region’s array of attractions, enhancing Sareyn’s reputation as a prime touristic destination.

Sareyn, located 25 kilometers west of Ardabil at the foothills of the Mount Sabalan, is famous for its numerous hot and cold mineral springs, stunning views, pleasant climate, lush gardens, and well-equipped hotels and recreational facilities.

Sareyn, known as the “city of heavenly springs,” leads Iran in health tourism, attracting numerous visitors to its hot springs. The city’s mineral springs, many of which have been developed into covered pools, are the main draw for tourists. Additionally, the Alvares Ski Resort, with its winter and summer attractions, and climbing routes to Mount Sabalan’s peak, adds to Sareyn’s appeal.
