TEHRAN – The Kish Free Zone Organization (KFZO) is scheduled to construct ten museums in a bid to enrich the cultural landscape of the choral island in the Persian Gulf.

Those tourism-related projects are slated for completion by the year 1405 in the Persian calendar (corresponding to 2026-2027 in the Gregorian calendar), according to Mehdi Adibian, the deputy director of the KFZO.

He outlined that five of these museums will be housed within historical buildings on Kish Island, while the remaining five will be established on approved sites designated by the organization.

Emphasizing the need for a shift from traditional to modern museum concepts, Adibian stated, “Our approach to museums should evolve from traditional to modern. We aim to generate revenue from these museums through educational services, exhibitions, recreational activities, and artistic endeavors, making investments in them economically viable.”

Highlighting the expertise enlisted for the conceptualization of these museums, Adibian remarked, “We have engaged proficient consultants, particularly those well-versed in languages and tourism, to transform the tourism landscape of Kish Island in this regard.”

Earlier this month, Rahim Sarhangi, the KFZO’s CEO, announced the formation of a special consortium dedicated to travel affairs. Sarhangi identified developing the necessary infrastructure for tourism growth and facilitating the attraction of domestic and international tourists as key objectives of this consortium.

“Strategic and creative plans will be implemented to sustainably boost tourism in this region,” the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization noted, “especially during the low season of summer.”

Amongst the Persian Gulf islands, Kish is the most luxurious and developed one. Except for its unique nature, such as waters and shallow beaches, the tourist attractions of this charming island are due to its rich historical background as well as its kind and hospitable people.

The pristine and beautiful nature, the meeting of land and sea, clear sky, pleasant air, and pleasurable reverberation of the waves create such a sense of calm that one cannot even distinguish between imagination and reality.
