TEHRAN – A familiarization tour has been planned to improve the status of eco-lodges in Fars province.

As mentioned by the provincial tourism chief, the fam tour is the first of its kind to be undertaken in the southern province.

“It is poised to have a significant impact on promoting lesser-known historical treasures and attractions, as well as showcasing the facilities of tourist accommodations in the region,” Mohammad Sabet-Eqlidi noted.

“In collaboration with 25 tourism professionals, including online platforms’ activists, travel agencies, and tourist guides, the tour is scheduled for a five-day duration.”

The official further detailed the program, stating that the tour would kick off from the northernmost area of Fars in Izadkhast and extend its journey to the southernmost county, Darab.

The organizers seek not only to highlight tourist attractions but also to introduce the existing eco-lodges in the targeted regions to raise awareness about eco-lodges.

The official, however, didn’t provide further details about the schedule for the group’s visit to the province.

Fars province currently boasts 198 active traditional eco-lodges, and this initiative aligns with the broader goal of promoting sustainable and immersive tourism experiences.

Renowned for its rich cultural heritage, historical significance, and diverse landscapes, Fars is home to numerous historical sites, including Pasargadae, the capital of Cyrus the Great, and the ancient city of Shiraz, known for its beautiful gardens, poetry, and architecture.

The province offers a captivating blend of traditional and modern elements, making it a favorite destination for both domestic and international travelers.
