TEHRAN – With millions of Iranians gearing up for travel during the upcoming spring holidays, Tourism Minister Ezzatollah Zarghami has urged provincial officials to ensure the highest level of service for holidaymakers.
As millions of Iranians planning to travel during the spring holidays, the tourism minister Ezzatollah Zarghami has called on provincial colleagues to serve holidaymakers in the best way possible.
Speaking at the meeting called “Welcome Nowruz and the holy month of Ramadan”, participated by provincial colloquies, Zarghami on Thursday spelled out the convergence of two national and religious events as a momentous opportunity to appreciate Iran’s cultural richness.
Zarghami called on the officials to make every effort to support new year travelers, saying: “Consider taking measures in a sincere manner as you are serving millions of domestic and foreign tourists…”
The minister also reiterated how pivotal is the role of provincial officials, mentioning their capability to turn over a new page in the tourism field.
Zarghami addressed the necessity of installing further road signs to inform people about regional capacities.
The official cited an example about the lack of information, addressing unawareness among travelers of 54 centuries-old caravanserais locations which earlier this solar year [on September 27, 2023] gained UNESCO label.
Declaring cooperation with the Ministry of Roads & Urban Development, Zarghami stated a plan to install tourist-related road signs in the wake of exploiting historical and natural capacities.
Regarding boosting the revenue for handicrafts, the Tourism Minister addressed the cultural and historical places of interest as the greatest locations to showcase and sell handicrafts to enthusiasts during Nowruz.
It’s noteworthy that the Nowruz holidays are a high season with the most passenger traffic, which brings to light the significance of disciplined planning in the interest of serving tourists deservedly.
