New taxi service set to elevate Nowruz tourism in Tehran
TEHRAN – A touristic shuttle taxi service in Tehran, specialized to serve in the course of the upcoming Nowruz, the Persian New Year holiday, has been unveiled in a ceremony, attended by some related officials.
As per some plans declared by authorized, touristic shuttle taxis are supposed to be available on a pilot basis in the days of Nowruz 1403 in Tehran's urban tourist spots such as Abbas-Abad cultural and tourism area, Golestan Palace, Sa’dabad palace complex.
Head of Tehran taxi management and supervision organization, Shadi Maleki stressed that the shuttle service which has been accessible since a few months ago has faced citizens’ welcome.
“This service is supposed to be available to tourists in Nowruz 1403 so that they can enjoy the capacities of public services and be easily transported from different parts of the city to the sightseeing, tourism and entertainment places of Tehran, “Maleki noted.
Facilitating tourists’ transportation to places of interest, the shuttle taxi service can be a new chapter in Tehran’s urban tourism, according to the head of the Tehran Tourism and Entertainment Holding Secretariat. Seyed Mohammad Hossein Hejazi also expressed optimism towards taking measures in the wake of increasing the tourism standard of Tehran.
Javad Vahedi, the deputy of parliament, appreciated the efforts of the mayor of Tehran in the field of tourism, mentioning transportation as the missing link of the city which needed the powerful presence of the Tehran Municipality.
This service which was unveiled earlier this year uses artificial intelligence to identify crowded centers notify the control center and send a taxi to that place.
A shuttle taxi is a transportation mode that falls between both cars and buses and usually takes people on a fixed or semi-fixed route without timetables, but instead departing when all seats are filled.
