Seven countries to attend IranNano 2023
TEHRAN – Trade delegations and knowledge-based companies from seven countries will participate in the 14th International Nanotechnology Festival and Exhibition (Iran Nano 2023) which will be held in Tehran on November 4-7.
Indonesia, Cuba, and Venezuela are some of the participants in this edition of the exhibition, IRNA reported.
For the time being, 358 companies are operating in the field of nanotechnology in the country and 1608 products and equipment have received nanotechnology certificates.
The participants will showcase their achievements in the fields of oil and energy, water and environment, agriculture, car, construction, textile, and advanced materials.
One of the industries that have experienced good growth in Iran in recent years, proving the country’s scientific development, is the nanotechnology industry, a subject area that has brought Iran to the world’s fourth place.
Currently, nanotech products are produced and marketed in more than 15 industrial fields based on domestic technologies and are being exported to 49 countries from five continents.
Over the past year (ended March 20), the total sale of Iranian nanoproducts has been equal to 115 trillion rials (nearly $425 million).
The expansion of nanotechnology export programs in recent years and the establishment of bases for exporting nanotechnology products to China, India, Indonesia, Syria, Turkey, and Iraq have provided the opportunity for the entry of Iranian nanotechnology goods, equipment, and services into global markets.
Some 42 percent of the products in this field are related to construction, more than 17 percent to the field of oil, gas, and petrochemicals, 13 percent to the field of automobiles, and over 10 percent to the field of optoelectronics.
Iranian nanotechnology companies export their products, equipment, and services to 58 countries.
The exports increased by 53 percent in the Iranian calendar year 1400 (March 2021-March 2022) compared to the preceding year, ISNA reported.
In the Iranian calendar year 1398 (March 2019-March 2020), the lowest share (7 percent) of nanotechnology products in the country’s nanotechnology market was recorded.
The expansion of export programs, especially in recent years, has led to the entry of Iranian nanotechnology products, equipment, and services into global markets.
The three countries of Iraq, Turkey, and Lebanon were the most important destinations for Iranian nanotechnology products with $21.5 million, $12.4 million, and $9.3 million of imports, respectively.
By the end of the year 1400 (March 2022), a total of 280 companies were active in the nanotechnology field, and the total revenue amounted to 203 trillion rials (almost $407 million).
In the same year, exports of nanotechnology equipment and services rose by 59 percent and 108 percent, respectively.
