Theme park featuring ocean landscape opens in Tehran
TEHRAN —A theme park featuring an ocean landscape opened its doors to the public in the Abbasabad neighborhood of Tehran on Saturday.
The theme park has been designed to enhance the social vitality of the visitors with the ultimate goal of developing creative tourism, the CEO of Abbasabad Renovation Company said.
The theme park has been created by private investors in close collaboration with the Tehran Municipality, Seyyed Mohammad-Hossein Hejazi said.
This theme park, which assumes a fictional and imaginative influence, has been created in the vicinity of similar parks aimed at developing Tehran’s entertainment and tourist destinations, he stated.
“A large portion of Abbasabad lands consists of theme parks in a bid to boost touristic and recreational spaces,” the official explained.
In an address to the inauguration ceremony, the deputy tourism minister said: “Sole reliance on historical and cultural attractions cannot cause the repetition of travel behavior, while theme parks can have this effect in the process of urban tourism.”
“The development of urban tourism requires attraction-creating tools that theme parks can be effective in this field,” Ali-Asghar Shalbafian said.
Hugging the lower slopes of the magnificent, snowcapped Alborz Mountains, Tehran is so much more than a chaotic jumble of concrete and crazy traffic blanketed by a miasma of air pollution. It is the nation's dynamic beating heart.
