TEHRAN – Hashem Dadashpour, the Iranian deputy science minister, and Han Song U, the North Korean Ambassador to Iran, discussed ways to boost cooperation in the fields of research and education.

In a meeting in Tehran on Thursday, Dadashpour said that the exchange of professors and students between the two countries and the creation of short-term study opportunities for students and professors can be a field of cooperation.

There have been long-term relations between Iran and North Korea, which can be increased by scientific exchanges between the two countries. 

For this purpose, North Korean students have announced their readiness to continue their studies in Iran, and Iran’s higher education centers can provide a good capacity for North Korean students, he explained.

Referring to the promotion of the Persian language in North Korea, Dadashpour stated that language is a common criterion and it strengthens the joint cooperation between the two countries in scientific, cultural, economic, and social fields.

The North Korean official, for his part, said that increasing bilateral cooperation is very important, expressing readiness to expand joint activities.

“We are eager to strengthen science and technology cooperation between the two countries. In fact, if two countries use each other’s experience in the field of education, their strength will increase significantly,” he noted.
