Seven fall destinations offering more than just pretty leaves
TEHRAN - When the heart-shaped leaves turn brilliant red, orange, and yellow in the autumn, color enthusiasts will find autumn gold, which is very rewarding.
Iran is brimming with fall foliage spots to celebrate rainbows of splendor against the snowcapped mountains, lush meadows, urban terrains, or golden rolling hills as the temperatures have started to drop.
It is one of the few countries where seasonal changes can be observed and felt, offering a variety of vacation spots for nature lovers.
Here is a selection of seven destinations for your bucket list when it comes to autumn tourism.
Olasabelanga
Don't worry; Even pronouncing Olasabelanga is not an easy task for Persian speakers. The name comes from the local dialect Gilaki and means "a high place where hornbeams grow."
Olasabelanga is a mountain village in Masal, Gilan province. Like other northern provinces, Gilan's cool climate and verdant landscapes exude a sense of serenity.
Looking at pictures of the village, with its lush landscapes, wooden houses, and overcast skies, it's easy to mistake Olasabelanga for a Northern European village.
Alangdarreh Jungle
If willing to go to a jungle full of trees and enjoy autumn nature, Alangdarreh jungle is an option.
Cool-weather of autumn, trees with thousands of fall leaf colors creating a dreamy spectrum of yellow to red and light rain. If you would be lucky, all offer you a unique experience of going to the jungle in autumn.
Yoush
Yoush is a picturesque village at the foot of the Alborz Mountains in the province of Mazandaran, 105 km south of Amol. The 100 km narrow road from Yoush to Noor is lined with trees against a beautiful backdrop of lush plains and gentle slopes.
Due to its many twists and turns, the road does not receive many travelers, which means that only those who want to get a glimpse of Iran's pristine and incomparable landscapes are willing to bother driving it.
Nay-Band
Nay-Band in South Khorasan province is a historic village at the crossroads of three geographically distinct formations: the desert, the mountain, and the plain.
The village is nestled at the foot of the mountains with easy access to the lush plains. Adventurers can head 200 km north to Tabas in the heart of the desert.
Nay-Band and is close to a wildlife sanctuary named after it, which is home to a large population of gazelles.
Maranjab Desert
If interested in desert tourism and pure sunlight, surely you have to include travel to Maranjab in Isfahan in your program.
There, you may enjoy lying on cool and soft sands under the gentle light of the sun in autumn or prefer the silence of the day and the night sky filled with stars.
Golestan province
Although naming a province as a travel destination might seem unusual given the number of towns and villages that exist, Golestan province is a place to visit in the fall.
Some say you may close your eyes and point at a spot on Golestan’s map to get your gear and head out! The province is chock-full of colorful forests and cascading waterfalls, making Golestan a top destination from spring to fall.
Shiraz
Visiting Shiraz, known as the bride of cities in the south part of Iran, is one of the best things to do in autumn!
Celebrated as the heartland of Persian culture for over 2000 years, Shiraz has become synonymous with education, nightingales, and poetry.
There are the usual Iranian traffic issues, but the city’s agreeable climate, set in a fertile valley once famed for its vineyards, makes it a pleasant place to visit.
